 Effects of heptanol on CV – Sinus node preparation: Action potentials, the histogram and the CV recorded from two or three electrodes (S1, S2) placed at a distance of 300 |J.m within the sinus node region are shown under control conditions in Figure 2a. Action potentials recorded from S1 (the key electrode) and S2 corresponded in the upstroke phase to each other and were well synchronized with each other (Figure 2a, left). The interval histogram of action potentials recorded from S2 showed the same pattern as that from S1, with a peak value at 233 ms. CV was 0.98 in S1 and 0.84 in S2 (not significant) (Figure 2a, right). Five minutes after application of 1.0 mM heptanol, the interval histogram of action potentials and the CV recorded from S1 showed the same pattern as that from control and remained within control values, while the interval histogram of action potentials and the CV recorded from S2, 300 |J.m apart from S1, were deviated and raised (Figure 2b, right).
